The East Anglia Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2010 by a group of musician friends seeking to draw together the best local musicians to make music that would be as rewarding as possible for players, audiences, and our visiting professional artists. The orchestra has gained an outstanding reputation for its exciting and virtuosic music-making and imaginative programming. We work with a range of different conductors and artists, with many – including Toby Purser, Jacques Cohen, and John Paul Jennings– becoming regular favourites. We learn something new from each of these collaborations. We have collaborated regularly with a number of choirs, including an annual concert accompanying the Cambridge University Symphony Chorus. We have worked with some of Cambridge’s other top vocal ensembles, including The Fairhaven Singers, The New Cambridge Singers, and Cambridge Chorale.

Our regular venues are: West Road Concert Hall, King’s College Chapel, Ely Cathedral, The Apex in Bury St Edmunds, and Saffron Hall. Many of our members make chamber music together, and the EACho Players smaller concerts of chamber music.
